From Split Rock Lighthouse and Itasca State Park in the north, to Pipestone National Monument and the Root River Trail in the south, Minnesota is brimming with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Now there is a handy way to share your favorites and to find outstanding outdoor opportunities you may have overlooked.
Minnesota’s Favorite Places is a new web feature at ConservationMinnesota.org/favorite-places. Like everything at Conservation Minnesota, Favorite Places is powered by Minnesotans like you. Sharing your favorite places with others is simple. Just enter the location, a short description and attach your photos.
When you visit the site, you are given a menu and map of attractions to learn about and visit. You can rate and review each place, or share photos that give the next visitor more information about ways to enjoy their experience. If you are planning a trip or a weekend getaway, you can search for favorite places near your destination or search the state based on your favorite activities like hiking, skiing, hunting and more!
Minnesota’s Favorite Places is generously sponsored by Lutsen Mountain. It reflects our joint commitment to the idea that each person who gets out and enjoys our lakes, woods and wildlife, can be a partner in protecting the Minnesota we all love.
Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Paul Austin

It’s been very distressing reading and listening to and about the wolf hunt. Both Wisconsin and Minnesota lost the ball when they allowed wolf hunt to go forward. I recognize hunting, leg holds and the fun of shooting for sport. But, traps should never be used in this day and age for a hunt on bear, wolf! Neither animal threaten humans and traps have peripheral issues effecting other wildlife and humans! A sad commentary to see hunting exist with little over site. Mndnr has been negligent in overseeing our water quality, invasive plants and fish (blames funding)and now hunting or over hunting of a species that has struggled against man for eons!
