We’re actively looking for a colleague to help us continue to grow this network and connect with supporters on an individual level. You’ll play a central role in reaching out to our most loyal supporters and have the opportunity to grow giving across our network.

How You Will Be Spending Your Time

  • You will be continuously building relationships with individuals in order to identify, evaluate, and secure funding opportunities that expand philanthropic support for Conservation Minnesota’s general operations and focused program areas, whether that opportunity means simply submitting an established proposal or crafting a completely new approach.
  • You will be supporting the work of Conservation Minnesota’s Executive Director, Director of Strategic Advancement, and Board Members in building relationships with individual major donors.
  • In an average week, you will conduct 2 to 3 meetings with donors and prospects. After each meeting you will record your visit notes into Salesforce and report all pertinent information to your supervisor. When you are not in meetings, you will be stewarding your list and providing any follow-up information that has been requested.
  • You will be working to secure gifts of $5,000+ from a caseload of approximately 120 prospects.
  • You will participate in the all-staff weekly huddle and share what you will be working on during the upcoming week. This provides an opportunity to connect with the co-workers you may need assistance from so they can integrate that into their work plan.

What you have done

The best candidate for this position is someone who has progressive experience with:

  • Fundraising from individuals for nonprofit organizations, schools, or civic causes
  • Outreach experience with diverse populations and communities across different ethnicities, identities, abilities, religions and ideologies
  • It would be a plus if you had experience with: Small- and medium-sized organizations; Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota communities; Engagement campaigns across multiple communication channels; Online fundraising tools and strategies
