Wilderness in the City Event

Join Wilderness in the City and Dakota County Forever Wild Parks at an event to help shape the conversation about the future of our wilderness.

Featured Presentation: Amy Freeman, 2014 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, will present “A Year in the Boundary Waters”
Amy, along with her husband Dave, recently completed living for a year in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to raise awareness of threats to and to advocate for the preservation of this beloved wilderness destination in Minnesota. Amy’s presentation on their journey will be followed by a book signing for their recently published “A Year in the Wilderness.”

Presentation: Lebanon Hills – Preserving Nature Close to Home
Dakota County staff will provide an update on restoration progress at Lebanon Hills. Learn about several project areas, plans for buckthorn management, and more. There will be opportunity for Q/A and discussion with Natural Resources staff.
