CM’s Molly Pederson appointed to serve on State Parks and Trails Advisory Committee

Minnesota’s state parks and trails play an important role in our communities, our economy, and our way of life, and Conservation Minnesota’s Government Relations Director, Molly Pederson, is now part of an effort to shape their future.

Molly has been appointed to serve on the State Parks and Trails Future Advisory Committee. The committee was formed by Department of Natural Resources Commissioner Tom Landwehr and is tasked with creating a plan that increases the number of people who use the parks and trails, and identifies new, long-term funding sources to keep the system viable.

The 15-member panel will be co-chaired by former State Representative Dennis Ozment and former State Senator Becky Lourey and will begin meeting in May. Recommendations from the panel will be presented to Governor Mark Dayton and considered for the 2014-2015 budget.
