Environment Commissions Programs

virtual forum | spring tour | virtual networking

Many cities have volunteer advisory commissions that recommend actions, plans, and identify strategies to their local elected officials. Sustainability, environment, energy, natural resources, and parks and recreation commissions are found throughout Minnesota, but these volunteer commissions don’t often have the resources to connect or collaborate with other cities. That’s why we partner with GreenStep Cities & Tribal Nations to host Environment Commissions events.

Virtual Forum

Each Environment Commissions Forum provides opportunities for commissioners to connect with their colleagues to share successes and challenges, hear from experts about what cities can do to make big impacts, and learn from case studies of local governments that are taking bold action.

Virtual Networking

Conservation Minnesota provides space for volunteer advisory commissioners and local government staff to connect, share information, foster ideas, and problem solve with others from around the state. Share a recent victory on your commission, ask for some advice about an issue your city faces, or send notice about an event that could be beneficial to all our work.
