Even small amounts of exposure could be fatal—and research has linked it to long-term health impacts, including an increased risk of Parkinson’s disease. Beyond health risks, paraquat can persist in soil for years and harm wildlife, water quality, and ecosystems.

Battery waste is dangerous, detrimental to the environment, and costly to Minnesotans. A new bill (SF 1690/HF 1426) would require battery manufacturers to fully fund the collection of all electronic waste, so it can be recycled responsibly, at no cost to Minnesotans.
