About this Legislation
Chief Author

The SF 959 Environment & Natural Resources Omnibus Bill contains measures that would deregulate several areas related to the conservation of Minnesota's waters. These deregulations include: limiting requirements for transporting potentially diseased minnows, making it easier to drain and destroy rare water-treating calcareous fens, eliminating safeguards against reckless and harmful manure spreading, etc. Over 28 conservation rollbacks were included in the SF 959 Omnibus Bill. This amendment would remove them.

The amendment failed, and water quality rollbacks were included in the Senate Environment Omnibus bill. The bill now proceeds to Conference Committee to be combined with the House’s version of the Environment Omnibus bill.

What a no means
