About this Legislation
Chief Author

The A27 Amendment removes environmental rollbacks in the Environment and Natural Resources Omnibus Bill and appropriates $650,000 from the environmental fund to develop a plan for ensuring that Minnesota has an abundant supply of clean water for the next 50 years.

The Environment and Natural Resources Omnibus Bill includes a list of environmental rollbacks, including: Creating a 16-year waiting period for the enforcement of industrial pollutant discharge, restricting the DNR’s and MPCA’s ability to enforce guidelines or standards, and limiting the ability of Minnesotans to petition for an environmental assessment worksheet. This amendment seeks to remove these rollbacks and others. Additionally, the A27 amendment replaces funding related to certain rollbacks with $650,000 for a 50-year clean water plan.
